31 foot "Trinity"

  
The 31ft x 10ft 8in “Trinity” is a Steven Pollard design built for heavy offshore use. This full walk around boat custom designed to our specifications fishes up to 6 persons comfortably. With 500 horsepower, (new in 07) she cruises at 30mph, with a top speed of 45 mph getting you to the fishing grounds for that early bite, and back to the lodge after a hard day on the water. Ride in comfort on an air ride seat up forward, on bench seats, or on a midship settee, and should the need arise, in an enclosed head forward. Electronics are a JRC 600 watt color fish finder, color radar and chart plotter, 2 VHF radios for safety and communication, and easy listening music of your choice by satellite radio. Fishing gear is G Loomis 1084 9ft saltwater rods, Shimano 600 LC salmon reels, Shimano TLD 2 speed halibut and bottom fish reels.
 

Captain Chuck Haydu has fished and sailed Alaska waters since 1977. He received his Coast Guard Captains license in 1989 and started guiding clients that same year. He started Klawock Bay Inn in 1990 and in 1994 built Kingfisher Lodge.

27 foot "Aluminated Lady"

  
The “Aluminated Lady” is a 27ft Almar built for heavy offshore use. With a 24 degree dead rise and step chine she is designed for comfort and safety. Powered by twin 130 horsepower Honda engines she is fast and reliable with an air ride seat forward, a settee midship, seating up to 5 and fishing up to 4 comfortably. If the need should arise there is a fully enclosed head for your privacy. Electronics are Furuno navigation net system with color chart plotter, fish finder, radar, VHF radio, and music with a CD and radio sporting Bose speakers. Fishing rods are G Loomis 1084 C 9’ rods, Shimano 600 LC salmon reels, and Shimano TLD 2 speed halibut and bottom fish reels.
 

Captain Joel Steenstra is an ex-Coast Guard Flight Mechanic on the HH60 Jayhawk search and rescue chopper. When his duty was up with the Coast Guard he fished commercially trolling for salmon and bottom fishing, then obtained his Coast Guard Captains license and began guiding sport fishermen in the Craig area. He started guiding for Kingfisher Lodge in 2006.

Gratuities guide: Gratuities are viewed differently by different people. We prefer people only tip if they feel inclined due to hard work by the captain and crew. Typically tips range from 5% to 10% of the total trip, and a hearty "Thank you" for those that do!
